Vitamin D

Vitamin DVitamin D is not a vitamin but instead is a powerful steroidal hormone. Its active form enhances immune cells’ creation of antimicrobial proteins.

The ideal levels in your body should be above 50 ng/ml with an optimal level of 70-80 ng/ml. Sunlight and supplementation are the only significant sources of vitamin D.

Vitamin D deficiency is a significant factor in several conditions that affect a high population in the world:

  • Chronic low back pain, which may be associated with osteomalacia (i.e., softening of the bones due to a lack of vitamin D).
  • Cancer; people living at higher latitudes (e.g., Canada, northern U.S., etc.) have a greater risk of dying from colon cancer than people who live closer to the equator and experienced greater sun exposure. A 2006 review article notes that the majority of studies examining the relationship between vitamin D status and cancer risk show that sufficient vitamin D levels do indeed reduce the risk of cancer and that supplementation is an affordable way to reduce cancer incidence and cancer-related deaths. Vitamin D deficiency may be associated with the following cancers: colorectal, cervical, breast and prostate.
  • Risk of heart disease and hypertension have also been associated with vitamin D deficiency.

Get direct sunlight on your body for 15-20 maximum, and then apply the sunscreen. The sunscreen does not allow the Vitamin D to absorb in the body.

Cholesterol

CholesterolGood Cholesterol/Bad Cholesterol

Good Cholesterol is very important to the body. It contributes to the male and female Endocrine system, Immune response, and the Brain. Excessive bad Cholesterol is produced by a higher ratio of sugar vs. insulin in the blood.

30% of Cholesterol forms the precursors to the male sex hormones. If the total Cholesterol in under 150, the body will decrease testosterone hormone production. Signs and symptoms associated with testosterone deficiency’s are: decreased libido, erection dysfunction, depression, increase body fat, decreased bone density, and muscle weakness.

Make sure organic fats and oils are in your diet. Keep the HDL level high.

Stress

stressStress causes the whole body to function poorly, it causes an inflammatory response in the body, and all systems either over work and or under perform.

Adrenal Glands

The adrenal glands respond to stress by releasing cortisol, and adrenaline; the continuedover use of the adrenals causes a condition called “adrenal fatigue”. Adrenal fatigue decreases, causes thyroid and hormonal function to decline. Fatigue, muscle weakness, wake up tired, irritability, decreased sexual function, anxiety, and depression are signs and symptoms of adrenal fatigue.

Breathing techniques, hobbies, stress management courses, exercise, sleep, supplementing the adrenals, brain and thyroid help correct stress related conditions. The L3W program helps the body run more efficiently, which will help combat physiological, neurogenic and emotional stress.

There is no one organ/gland that works alone…Stress also affects the Gut>Brain>Immune system train.  These all work together, when excessive stress is forced on the body. The brain will start to have dysfunction due to psychological components and pathophysiological components. The brain will crave sugar and other substances to deal with the stress. In turn, the poor food choices will inflame the gut. When the gut is inflamed, the immune system starts to fail. The body goes into a vicious cycle until it fails and the patient gets sick.

Stress is definitely the hardest thing to correct on a patient. There is no adjustment or pill to help money problems, sickness, marital problems, work issues and family problems. Each individual has to try and construct their own stress dissolver. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Gallbladder

The gallbladder is a small sac found just under the liver. It stores bile made by the liver. Bile helps you digest fats.

gallbladderGallstones Signs or Symptoms to look for:

  • Sharp stabbing pain on the right side of the Stomach
  • Pain can develop suddenly in the center of the upper belly and spread to the right upper back or shoulder blade area. It is usually hard to get comfortable; moving around does not make the pain go away.
  • Can prevent you from taking normal or deep breaths.
  • Last 15 minutes to 24 hours; 1 to 5 hours of continuous pain is common.
  • Occur after meals
  • Most gallstones do not cause problems. But if they block a duct, they usually need medical attention to break up the stones or remove the Gallbladder.

The Gallbladder is a very important organ, it helps produce energy. Bile is needed to break down fats for energy, decreased energy and strength is possible, if the gallbladder is not healthy or removed. When moderate to large quantities of fat are consumed, the gallbladder releases large amounts of bile.

Low fat programs and patients that eat a little food, can cause Gallstones. If you don’t use the Gallbladder, Stones will form and then trouble begins.

If your gallbladder is slacking, you need a supplement that energizes, detoxs and cleans the gallbladder. Go to a L3W provider and find out if your gallbladder needs help. Find out what Bio-Chemical type you are. The program gives the patient combination of fat, protein and carbohydrates.

Gut Health

Woman's Fingers Touching her body parts, heart shaped fingersApproximately 500 species of bacteria, as well as many species of yeast and other organisms, live in the human gastrointestinal tract and make up the “gut flora”. These “friendly” bacteria are vital for good digestion and the health of the intestines in general. You may have noticed food products like yogurt and acidophilus milk that contain these bacteria. It is becoming more common for them to be added, just as vitamins and minerals are frequently added.

Illness can occur when the amount of friendly bacteria is reduced and the other organisms are able to increase their numbers and become the majority. There are a number of factors that can disrupt the balance of organisms in the intestines and lead to overgrowth of the less desirable species. The most important factors are:

  • Antibiotic use (abuse)
  • Use of the birth control pill
  • Use of other hormones, especially immunosuppressants like steroids
  • Diet, especially one high in sugar
  • Alcohol
  • Stress

Conditions often caused by dysbiosis include Irritable Bowel Syndrome, acne, food allergies, Chronic Fatigue and depression. But you can help repopulate the good bacteria by eating foods that contain natural, healthy bacteria, including yogurt and acidophilus milk. You should take a daily probiotic supplement.

The gut has three primary functions:

  • Digestion of foods and conversion into vitamins
  • Absorption of nutrients
  • Prevention of toxins and pathogens from entering the body

If one of these systems (Gut/ Brain/ Immune) is taxed, the other two will eventually be affected.

Learn how to eat the right food combination to cause the least amount of stress in the Gut, through the L3W wellness system. This will improve immune function, and Gut performance.
