Vitamin D

Vitamin DVitamin D is not a vitamin but instead is a powerful steroidal hormone. Its active form enhances immune cells’ creation of antimicrobial proteins.

The ideal levels in your body should be above 50 ng/ml with an optimal level of 70-80 ng/ml. Sunlight and supplementation are the only significant sources of vitamin D.

Vitamin D deficiency is a significant factor in several conditions that affect a high population in the world:

  • Chronic low back pain, which may be associated with osteomalacia (i.e., softening of the bones due to a lack of vitamin D).
  • Cancer; people living at higher latitudes (e.g., Canada, northern U.S., etc.) have a greater risk of dying from colon cancer than people who live closer to the equator and experienced greater sun exposure. A 2006 review article notes that the majority of studies examining the relationship between vitamin D status and cancer risk show that sufficient vitamin D levels do indeed reduce the risk of cancer and that supplementation is an affordable way to reduce cancer incidence and cancer-related deaths. Vitamin D deficiency may be associated with the following cancers: colorectal, cervical, breast and prostate.
  • Risk of heart disease and hypertension have also been associated with vitamin D deficiency.

Get direct sunlight on your body for 15-20 maximum, and then apply the sunscreen. The sunscreen does not allow the Vitamin D to absorb in the body.

Cholesterol

CholesterolGood Cholesterol/Bad Cholesterol

Good Cholesterol is very important to the body. It contributes to the male and female Endocrine system, Immune response, and the Brain. Excessive bad Cholesterol is produced by a higher ratio of sugar vs. insulin in the blood.

30% of Cholesterol forms the precursors to the male sex hormones. If the total Cholesterol in under 150, the body will decrease testosterone hormone production. Signs and symptoms associated with testosterone deficiency’s are: decreased libido, erection dysfunction, depression, increase body fat, decreased bone density, and muscle weakness.

Make sure organic fats and oils are in your diet. Keep the HDL level high.

The “Matrix”

Do we live in the Matrix?cholesterol4

Labcorp just changed its markers for Total Cholesterol to 100-175, with 176 being a pathological high. So the median or optimal level would be 137-138 according to labcorp. In the cardio vasculature fellowships we were taught if a patient has lower than a 145 total cholesterol, the patient should be on some type of Anxiety, depression and brain malfunction medication.

If a total cholesterol of 137-138 is the new optimal target, then expect an increase in Neurological problems (memory, foggy, headaches, thyroid, and brain issues) due to the fact that the brain is mostly Cholesterol and uses healthy Cholesterol for energy.

More hormonal problems (Erectile dysfunction, lack of libido, dryness, vaginal pain, lack of motivation, difficulty getting pregnant, and possibly increase autism in children). Being Cholesterol the pre-cursor to hormones such as Testosterone, Estrogen, progesterone, etc.

Low Cholesterol> Low hormones> lower immune system…

So everyone needs to unplug and enter the real world!!!

Gallbladder

The gallbladder is a small sac found just under the liver. It stores bile made by the liver. Bile helps you digest fats.

gallbladderGallstones Signs or Symptoms to look for:

  • Sharp stabbing pain on the right side of the Stomach
  • Pain can develop suddenly in the center of the upper belly and spread to the right upper back or shoulder blade area. It is usually hard to get comfortable; moving around does not make the pain go away.
  • Can prevent you from taking normal or deep breaths.
  • Last 15 minutes to 24 hours; 1 to 5 hours of continuous pain is common.
  • Occur after meals
  • Most gallstones do not cause problems. But if they block a duct, they usually need medical attention to break up the stones or remove the Gallbladder.

The Gallbladder is a very important organ, it helps produce energy. Bile is needed to break down fats for energy, decreased energy and strength is possible, if the gallbladder is not healthy or removed. When moderate to large quantities of fat are consumed, the gallbladder releases large amounts of bile.

Low fat programs and patients that eat a little food, can cause Gallstones. If you don’t use the Gallbladder, Stones will form and then trouble begins.

If your gallbladder is slacking, you need a supplement that energizes, detoxs and cleans the gallbladder. Go to a L3W provider and find out if your gallbladder needs help. Find out what Bio-Chemical type you are. The program gives the patient combination of fat, protein and carbohydrates.

Estrogen Dominance

estrogen_dominanceEstrogen dominance is a growing health concern for people around the world. Although it is more common in women than men, it can also affect men, causing such problems as infertility, erectile dysfunction, enlarged prostate and certain types of cancer.

Estrogen is naturally produced by the male body in small amounts. Estrogen dominance is a hormone imbalance that occurs when levels of the hormone estrogen are too high in relation to other hormones in the body. It can be caused either by excessive production of estrogen, or an over dose of testosterone therapy. Too much testosterone causes the body to “Aromatize” which increases estrogen. An estrogen blocker is very important in Bio-identical hormone therapy for a man, so estrogen dominance does not appear.

Although estrogen dominance in men is most commonly caused by factors such as obesity, alcoholism, or exposure to a form of environmental estrogen called xenoestrogens, it can be caused by a number of medical problems. If you suspect you may have estrogen dominance, contact a L3W provider. A long term problem can turn into Prostate or Testicular cancer.

Symptoms of Excessive Estrogen in Men

The symptoms of estrogen dominance in men include:

  • Low sex drive
  • Impotency/erectile dysfunction
  • Infertility
  • Gynecomastia, or “man boobs”
  • Weight gain (mostly belly fat)
  • Enlarged prostate

Xenoestrogens increase estrogen in the body, which is found in everyday house hold chemicals and our food source. The following post will include where xenoestrogens exist and how to combat increasing bad estrogen.

Fat cells are considered an organ itself which increases estrogens (Belly fat is a good indicator there is an increase in estrogen). It is very important to reduce stored fat in the body. Go to a L3W provider to improve organ and gland function. And reduce fat retention!!!
